Toilet Tiling - Part 6

Today's task was even more challenging. The manors have to fit the tiles nicely with the toilet bowl. To do so, they were drawing the shape of the toilet bowl, cutting the curves and tiling them. In addition of that, my mother had stressed them to tile the risen part in the toilet bowl.

Otherwise, in future, it would be easy to get dirty and hard to be washed.

After breaking the tiles and pasting the mortar, it is at least 3 cm higher.

Earlier, the manors only would make the curves smooth with mortar and grout.

Can you see the risen height around the toilet bowl?

In my opinion, mold would easily grow on the cement and would need to scrub the area where the mold is growing. After scrubbing, the grout would fall and roughing the surface. In that event, all the work done now would be a waste soon. Do you agree ?

Tiling the toilet bowl alone already half a day. They only managed to finish cutting and tiling the top and front of the toilet floor.

It is ~ 2 inches thicker than earlier.

They said the toilet would look nicer by doing so. Nevertheless, I was wondering why wouldn't they just cut the tiles near the wall a bit shorter? In that case, less cement is used and there would be more space for shower. Besides, I heard that Portland cement is expensive nowadays.

The border around the toilet bowl is tiled. They did a wonderful job. :P

* I cannot remember well when they finish tiling the toilet floor and the border around the ring. It could be on day 9 (evening) or day 10 (morning).

~~~ Day 10 (Saturday)~~~

Finally, the manors finished tiling the toilet and the floor at the verandah. They had work very hard to finish today's task. They did not have a break and only left (for lunch) after 1pm. However, they only work for half a day. Now, we should call the plumber for fixing the piping.

The water tap for the wash basin and cistern for the toilet are old and faulty. We are thinking of replacing them. However, the plumber said he does not provide these items. Hence, we have to get them ourselves.
