Kitchen Renovation [day 13]

Today is the first day of tiling the kitchen wall. The same manors (the old, the young and the constructor's child) were doing the job.

Taken during the lunch break.

<- The old manor finish tiling circa 4 rows (19 tiles each row) before the break.

My mother wanted to fit the

drainage piping at the bottom. Hence, a tile was taken out from the wall to allow the plumber to make the hole. (However, the plumber said cannot fit the hole before fitting the sink. :S)

<- The older manor was using the toothpicks to keep an equal distance between the tiles. Yet, some of the gap are not even. In the other hand, the younger manor was just using his sight.

They continue tiling after lunch.

The older manor was tiling the bigger wall while the other tiled the wall with the window.

By the end of the day, he almost finished tiling the whole wall while his friend is only half-way done.

However, tiling around the window was not an easy job. It needs a lot of tile cutting.

Although the old manor was fast, he was lackadaisical, (little enthusiasm and effort).

In order to fit the tiles near the border, he just cracked the side of the tiles using a tile nipper.

<- As a result, the border has uneven lines. :(

Green grout as the finishing for wall tiling.

My mother bought a 6 inch pvc pipe as smoke outlet for ventilation fan.

<- The men from the hardware shop drilled a huge square hole on top right of the window.

In my opinion, the hole is too high.

Though the young manor was slow, he was very detail in his work. He measured and cut the pieces nicely.

This was cut by him. Again, he did a great job! ->

I have an impression that smoking is a trend for

manors.

Tiles for the wall.

The new dish basin which is inclusive in the price was brought today by the constructor.

The bottom of the sink is sealed to its top while the old sinks we had before are one-piece-metal that bended to make the hollow.
